Dr. Chenglu Xiao received his bachelor's degree from the Science Pilot Program at China Agricultural University and his Ph.D. from Peking University. From November 2019 to December 2023, he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine, China Agricultural University. Since January 2024, he has been working as a Researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Nanchang University.
Myocardial infarction poses a serious threat to human life and health. While various clinical treatments can alleviate its symptoms, they are unable to repair dead cardiomyocytes. In contrast, lower vertebrates such as zebrafish and some newborn mammals can regenerate their hearts after injury. Studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration can provide a theoretical basis for repairing cardiac damage in adult organisms. I have long been engaged in research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration and have discovered that molecules such as Brg1 are involved in regulating the proliferation and regeneration of cardiomyocytes.
